So I sold my Infiniti 3 months ago because I simply wanted to “upgrade” to something nicer. I make about 50k a year, and have little to no debt besides my home, which pays for itself. (I have tenants that I rent my garage apartments out to)
So while I was searching for the perfect car, I would take the bus to work everyday. At first, I was really intimidated... and lost. The people that I see would really frighten me.... but what really opened my eyes were the amount of older folks who would ride the bus to work. I’m talking about 50-70 year old folks sporting a uniform to fast food places, and other low paying jobs. Not only were they having to ride the bus in their golden years, but they also had to work these minimum wage jobs just to support themselves! It was heart breaking to see, because some of them were my grandparents’ age.
Each day I would see the same folks riding the bus to get to work... it made me think of how fortunate I really am... I’m not rich.. but I certainly don’t have it as bad as these folks. I really feel bad for the older folks.. it makes me really take a long hard look at my retirement savings.. I’m 30 years old and really don’t even have anything saved for retirement.
Just thought I’d share this with you guys.
Thanks
