They opened a brand new Aldi in my area and every time I've gone there the produce has been underwhelming (and comparable in price to Costco and Giant), and since I'm a pescetarian I do mostly plant based dishes so that's a big deal breaker for me. The rest of their stuff seems so hit or miss. The frozen bags of fruit are generally more expensive than Costco and much smaller in size. I feel like the only stuff I've ever seen at Aldi that stands out in terms of price are the junk foods (especially in the frozen aisles) and off label, canned, sodium-packed crap that no amount of frugality would ever compel me to live off of.
Am I just unlucky in my area or what?
