So I would like to start this off by saying, I am pretty much a dumbass. I barely have any common sense, and know absolutely nothing about expenses or payments, bills, savings, banks, I don’t have a debit card (how do I even get that?) any of that. I just got hired for the first time ever, I’m pretty excited about it, but knowing how tight money has always been with me and my mom being alone, I know I can’t be stupid or impulsive with my money, and quite honestly, I know thats going to be hard for me. I was just seeking out any kinds of tips or strategies that could really help me with saving up for college and a car (plus its insurance, gas, etc), or even how I should be using it.
Since this is my first job and first real point of some kind of responsibility, I don’t know what to expect, or how I should act, should I immediately save up for a car, or focus on saving for college? Im just genuinely so lost on all this and I really don’t want to end up wasting a lot of money when I know how important it is, especially at a time like now.
Also, if anyone could explain to me how I should go about getting a car, what steps to take, even good cars to look into as a first car, it would be greatly appreciated!
