I just moved into a new apartment and bought a heavy bag to put in the garage. The garage has plaster walls with studs spaced 16 inches apart.I bought this heavy bag mount not reading the description thoroughly enough like a doofushttps://https://ift.tt/2JwKVpf it can only be mounted to concrete or 12 inch wood stud walls.I was going to return it, but was thinking about getting some 2x4s and mounting those horizontally onto the wall from studs, and putting the mount on that. I was thinking of having the boards be long enough to cover three studs as opposed to two, to make it more secure.Would this work? I couldn’t find anything in the search for this specific scenario. I’m hesitant because it’s obviously a very heavy bag (100 lbs) and will be swinging around and I don’t wanna take things into my own hands and risk potentially fucking up the walls in my new place. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2LIRBxm
