I often get fliers and ads of guys who travel to various cities in the US. They typically set shop in a hotel, the master tailor takes your measurements and sends it off to his shop in some other country. Then you go back again for a trial fitting, after which adjustments are made and you get your suit.

I've only got bespoke suits made in India (in a Raymonds suit shop) - and I was quite pleased with it - i selected the cloth (variety was decent), asked for a full canvas, got it fitted and adjusted, and it fits well and is really light-weight and comfortable. IIRC, I paid about $150-$200 for the tailoring (bonded suit would cost about half or 3/4 of this), and the rest of the cost was the cloth.

But i digress. I mention this only because it is not always practical to travel to another country to get a suit tailored. Hence, I wanted to know if anyone has gone this "visiting tailor" route. The prices seem really good too.
