I've had relatively good luck turning to Reddit with questions in the past, so I'm posting this here using a throwaway account in hopes of some sage advice. I'm honestly devastated though. I can't imagine how my grandparents feel. Over the last several days my grandparents have been scammed for thousands of dollars by someone claiming to be the police holding me on bail. They not only pretended to be me asking my grandparents to load money on to Google gift cards and provide the card info to bail me out, but also impersonated the police taking this information and requesting additional funds.

Is there any way to get any of their money back?

If nothing else, I plan to repay them over time, but I'm honestly a little shook by all of this. I'm just looking for anything I can do to help them. They're retired, on fixed income, and they just lost a significant amount of money.
