Hey all,
I've been pondering this thought for several months now.
How feasible/and or crazy is it to go without an active cellphone plan in this day and age? I'd still have my current smartphone that I could use on public WiFi at say the grocery store and restaurants, and I do plan on maintaining a traditional phone number through a VOIP provider(think Skype), but I wouldn't have service from one of the traditional carriers. It'd be strictly WiFI calling/texting.
At home this wouldn't be an issue as I have internet, but out and about it's a lot less connected.
As a side benefit I'd be saving roughly $50 a month by not having a plan, and I'd have less nagging distractions constantly going off from this piece of glass and plastic. This is kind of bucking the trend, though, as just about everyone has a cellphone plan these days; even kids in school.
Thoughts?
