I recently came upon a real nice, long piece of wood. It's all polished and what not, it actually was a desk before, but sitting loosely on a couple IKEA metal stands(not even bolted into it...). So the piece is 2X8 and my plans are to make an L-Desk out of it, but also let it function as 2 separate 2X4 tables, a singular 4X4 table, or again as an 2X8 table. I'm fairly crafty and would know how to do either/or configuration, but what I am stuck on is an efficient, stable, and functional way to place the legs of the table. I want the table to have ample room underneath where the edges will meet for the L-Desk configuration(this is the most important factor), but also function equally well as its own table(s) for each respective configuration(s).I'm also curious about what slabs of wood I would need to buy? Would 2X4's be the best bet, or could I skate by with some previously purchased/extra slabs of 1X3 furring strips I used to construct some slats for a bed frame of mine? Trying to be as cheap as possible here...Here is an example of the surfaces I want to include in the configurations:https://ift.tt/2LTQaNd via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2He4rAL
