I'm trying real hard to be a good little expat and file my US taxes abroad.
I have never had more than 10,000 usd in my foreign bank account. My account is shared and has my husband's name on it. He is not a us citizen and I am filing separate.
2017 was my wealthiest year with a whopping 18k after taxes in salary. I know I won't have to pay extra taxes but have not declared since 2013. 2014 I made less than 10k and the most was 2017 with that 18k.
I have always used turbotax but it appears I need the deluxe version which costs 60 bucks. Fine. But I have to upgrade and pay with a US card. Don't have one.
Is there a free way I can file and backfile? I know there is an amnesty streamlined procedure, are these just forms to print and fill out?
I have until July 15th. Any help on how to do this in the least painful and least expensive manner would be great.
