I've been using duffel bags from Nike and Adidas for decades, and they always wind up with the same problem: the weight of the bag eventually stresses the fabric near the handles to fray and start shredding. It doesn't even rip at the seams, the fabric itself literally just starts pulling apart like cotton candy. These bags never last more than a few months of use, and for $100 or so, that's pathetic.

It's only purpose is for the gym, so I only use it to walk a couple of minutes there from my car and back. I carry a good 10 to 15 kg in it, mostly a few micro plates, a powerlifting belt, and a pair of weightlifting shoes.

Price isn't too much of an issue if I know it'll last for life, but I wouldn't want something completely out of leather either, since that'd just add extra weight to it and be harder to clean and care for. Any ideas what I could use?
