I did work in 2015, but I only worked a few hours total at Popeye's and then I quit, and I never filed a tax return (I was 17 and a sophomore in high school and didn't even know what that was). In fact I've never filed a tax return, as I was in foster care and got money from the state throughout high school, and since graduating I've been living with my boyfriend and haven't had a job. Now I'm trying to register for community college, and they're telling me they need my 2015 IRS tax transcript. I tried getting the IRS to send me a tax transcript online and by mail through their website but they couldn't verify my identity for either and told me to call, which I can't do yet since it's the weekend.
Was I even supposed to file taxes that year? I don't remember how much I actually made total, but it was definitely less than a hundred dollars, and I figured that wasn't enough to require a tax return. If it's not, how am I supposed to prove I didn't need to file taxes? I don't think the IRS woul
