Wondering the best approach to dispute a charge for $2000 on my credit Card. I was enticed into some karaoke and drinks in a small apartment type room/bar in Tokyo. I remember saying yes to my first drink, then next thing I know it’s several hours later and I’m physically pulling myself away from these people saying “I need to go to sleep let me go!” I barely make it back to my room and pass out for 10 hours. Wake up with the worst headache of my life and see a receipt for 212,000 yen(about $2000).
So I should have known better, the situation seemed sketchy, but what’s done is done. My question is will the card company be helpful with a dispute in the charges if I tell the straight up truth or do I need to phrase things a specific way?
