I know about the sidebar request series and have read them all trust me I'm that kind of guy.
I know about cast iron skillets but don't like using mittens for every meal and honestly they have their uses and can probably be a pain to wash not rusty normal fry pans aren't.
Well I'm here mainly because my last budget sub $15 AUD buys of fry pans have died within six months each of heavy usage and so now being the recycle self reuse conscious person that I am i was wondering if there was an ultimate fry pan with usable handle that would not break slowly at the handle to the pan connection (as that is where these pans are breaking)..
Something maybe so solid that there are no connections just one solid fry pan with heat proof handle so I don't need a mitt to hold it while frying or searing or whatever.
Basically I want a fry pan that won't break at the handle and become trash after six to twelve months.
I know these exist and the lifespan of these pans is also due to my crazy housemates but I love them more than family so I don't want to tell them to go easy on the pans because I know it will hurt them.. anyways we get strangers in my place ask the time because of the kind of place it is (ashram) so I just need a fool proof idiot proof crazy mofo clueless careless proof fry pan so that I don't have to keep throwing away bargain $15 AUD fry pans from my local supermarket every year (I hate wastage).
So what are your recommendations for the strongest sturdiest fry pans available out there.. bonus points if it can be shipped or is available in Australia where I come from.
If there was ever a utensil that could work in the oven and on a gas stove I would use it in a heart beat but I know they don't exist unless I have to use mittens all the time and knowing the other people who will use it in this community kitchen they will burn themselves trying to use it.. it has happened before.. that's why we don't use cast iron skillets no more.. Yeah..
I also need some recommendations maybe on pots but honestly they are fine for now minus a few broken and loose handles.. seriously why can't we all just build long lasting buy it for life products instead of this cheap probably unplanned obsolescence.. gahh anyways Reddit save me with your precious knowledge
