I have to update my work wardrobe for the summer.

I did some browsing on ModCloth and H&M and left with nothing. I can't stand the idea of spending 50 dollars on a dress or shirt.

I feel like I'm in the minority here, because most non-sale items in stores are 50 bucks and up.

Often, I'll see 25 dollars for a basic tee. And even that is too much in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure I need to regauge my personal price scale.

Am I alone here? Am I being too frugal? On a basic level, what do you consider an average base prices for basic items? Do your standards vary by store?
