My parents thermostat died a few days ago, and my dad tried to put in a new one. Considering how I am now alone here doing it, it is safe to say he did something wrong. While I'm no more savvy with this than he is, at least I know when to ask for help. I've read the instructions a few times and the main issue I can see is that the original thermostat had a single wire going through both the Rc and Rh terminals instead of two in each. In addition there are some extra wires that I'm unsure of what to do with.Here's some photos to hopefully clear things up.
