My parents made my savings account, so their name is on it. They can put in and take out funds. I primarily use it but they monitor it. They were pretty pissed that I told them no when they asked for my checking account number to freely have permission to spy on and move my money on there too.
In eight months, I'm moving out. They are not going to be happy and I've told my mom and she was very disapproving of it. My dad is another story. I'm moving out in secret because he doesn't want to let me go and would probably pull malicious tricks to keep me there. He might call the police and try to make bogus reports to make them drag me back. He might slash my tires. He might threats of violence. He might try to get my fired from work.
But the most real threat is: he might see I'm gone and steal my savings so I have to come back. Before I move out, I think the best course of action would to be to move my money to a different bank a few days in advance, no warning and leave hopefully before they catch on.
