I've got about £100K saved. My work has been quiet last couple years and I've been living off my savings. Looks like I'll not earn much this year either. How can I maximise my money? My friend says buy a house, rent it out for income. I'm not keen but is it a good idea, or should I do something else? I'm retraining but will never make much money again. I'm fifties, UK. I'm just looking for ideas. I know I'm fortunate to have such savings, too. Thanks.
