Hey guys, so I have a back porch area of my house (we call it the Florida room). It is enclosed porch with a concrete slab as the foundation. Currently there is some maroon 1970s carpet glued to the slab. I am looking to install some cheap laminate floors back there but am having an issue getting the carpet peeled up. (Shit ton of industrial glue). My question is can I simply lay the laminate flooring over the glued down carpet? The associate at home depot told me that if the carpet is less than 1/4 thick that I could put the flooring right over it. He also said that I wouldn't need to use an underlayment as the carpet would act as such. The carpet doesn't have any foam under it. It is simply cheap carpet glued right to the slab. I have attached images of the floor and the laminate I am using. It is cheap laminate flooring that I practically got for free so it doesn't need to be perfect. The back porch is mostly used for plants and storage. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!laminate flooring via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2KhNSGg
