I had someone steal some mail a year and a half ago. The first six months nothing happened although I did do a credit block with the credit bureaus to be safe. Last June someone has applied for credit in my name 8 times. Newest attempt was yesterday. All but one time it’s been for a credit card for amazon through Chase bank. I call Chase every time. Go through the story. Get the fraud department and they promise to take care of it. They’ve also tried to get a Walmart card and signed me up for AARP (I’m in my 30’s). My credit drops every time this happens. I went up 200 points by working my butt off and now I’ve been down 100 points because of all of this. What more can I do to to stop this from happening again and again?
