I live in a dorm with really bad laundry facilities. It costs $1.25 to wash and $1.50 to dry clothes, but you need two dry cycles to get anything dry at all because of how terrible the dryers are (I'm talking small loads, soaking wet and smelling bad. I'm not the only one who has experienced this). I can't hang to dry, as my windows don't open enough to allow air flow and I have two other roommates sharing my 15x15 room. This has led to me spending about $15 every week just to get my clothes clean. Don't even get me started on trying to wash bedding.
There aren't any laundromats near me and I don't have transport beyond uber or hauling my clothes on public transit, which I don't think would end up being any cheaper by the time all is said and done. I do have detergent, etc.
I've been putting off laundry while getting through a bad financial time but am out of clothes and frankly, can't even afford groceries for the week, much less the added expense of this. Any and all advice is welcome.
