So I got a free vision 8k from the power company to replace the shitty nonprogrammable one I have now. Great! Here is where the fun starts. It needs a C wire, no problemo. Not one installed in the old thermostat so I use some existing wire to connect C at the control board and then connect it to the thermostat. No power. Measuring voltage I have ~28V between C and R on the control board, ~20V at the wall before anything is plugged in between C and R, ~24V even when JUST the c is connected to the thermostat, and ~2V when both are plugged into the board. The thermostat will not power on. I'm so lost here. There is continuity between the binding posts and the wires, and the wires themselves. Jumper installed for R and Rc, everything else as it should be. Not the first time I've installed a new automated thermostat, but first time I've run into this. Help. Plz.This is the TH8321WF model, there is no battery option available. C wire is required. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2INONC2
