Hey All, I'm in need of some guidance. So I have a split level house that has ethernet coming into the lower floor landing only; that's where my router is plugged in. I want to run Cat5 cable to a bedroom on the same lower level in order to get my PC hardwired, however i'm not sure how to run it. Here is the layout:https://ift.tt/2jwRzwm notice I marked the point where the Ethernet signal comes in on a wall it shares with the garage, and I marked the wall in the bedroom where I would like the cable to end up, the lines are stairs btw. It's the getting it there part that i'm not sure about. Here's a few bits of info:My initial plan is to put a switch in the wall where the current "hot" Ethernet cable comes in by cutting a small access place in the garage side of the wall and putting a little access door on it.The wall that the Ethernet currently comes into (sharing with the garage) does not go to the attic, it ends at the ceiling and floor above.I do not have recessed lighting downstairs, just one central dome light in the middle of the room currently with Ethernet power. The ceiling and walls are all finished.Any advice on how to tackle a project would be greatly appreciated, as I am stuck on how i'd fish the cable all the way over after putting in the switch. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2FKvPWm
