Hi r/frugal,

I am interviewing for a job where I would be traveling throughout the county (FL east coast). I learned that they do not provide work phones; however, I am uncomfortable with giving clients access to my personal phone number. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations you might have for a prepaid plan/phone. I heard that Cricket is good for rural coverage, but I really don't know all that much about prepaid services anymore, since I've been basically freeloading on my SO's grandfathered family plan for several years now (lol).

What I need in a phone: Good call quality; decent battery life; ability to call, text, and email; ideally a smartphone for ease of use but I guess not required

What I don't need in a phone: Fancy camera; fancy materials; high-speed internet capabilities; storage space

What I need in a plan: Good, reliable coverage, especially in notorious dead zones and rural areas; inexpensive; unlimited talk/text

What I don't need in a plan: A large amount of fast data (I anticipate using my personal phone for Google Maps, etc.)

Has anyone been in a similar situation before? Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
