When are brands and even capital firms going to realize that you have to approach the market differently now?

The traditional route doesn't work anymore. Of course Wall street wouldn't be able to protect Toms from the Retail storm. What'd they expect more consumers to continously scoop up Tom's products? I wonder if Toms hit saturation and is going to level off or decline and then level off.
