When equifax disclosed their data breach, I was worried, but I didn't know the best course of action. In my ignorance, I didn't really do anything. Eight months later, I haven't had any problems but I know this is not a sign that I am safe. I am well aware that my SSN, birth date, address, etc. could be out there waiting to be sold and used against me.
I am married and in college, graduating in two semesters. I have two credit cards, investments in a Roth IRA, and no student debt. I am fairly conscious about my credit score, I use Mint, Case's "Credit Journey" and USAA to check up on Transunion and Equifax credit reports.
What is the best course of action to protect myself at this point? Should I enact credit freezes with the three credit bureaus? If so, what is the best way to go about that?
