Hey, so we've been having some issues lately in our crawl space and are seeking some advice on how to proceed.Problem:At first we had a clog in the main drain. This backed up into the kitchen/laundry room drain. This line was an old rusted metal pipe and developed cracks due to rust/water pressure of the backed up water. So water was slowly making its way out the holes in that pipe and to the sump + making the ground very damp around that area. ** SOLVED by snaking the main drain and replacing that rusted pipe with PVCthen we noticed all that water was just sitting, the plastic wasnt in the best shape. Lots of holes and not 100% coverage. We attempted to make out gully better by giving it more of a grade. This helped a little.we then noticed in the back left room water was on the concrete slab. We have found cracks in the foundation that water must be getting through.Plan: 1.) Shop vac water from concrete slab. Fill cracks. 2.) Add some more dirt/sand (not sure which is better) to damp areas. One to level it for QOL when working down there, and to help soak up and water. 3.) The gully right now is just a trench with somr rocks lining it. I think filling it with small rocks to level it with the rest of the ground wouldnt be a bad idea? 4.) 12 mil plastic 100% of dirt area and surrounding walls.Is this the right way to go about it? We are in the lower NE, have vents along foundation of home for air flowSome have said to install a second sump (just run it to the current sump? With the plastic vapor barrier. Right now the plan would be to cover everything that is dirt and the gully area (fill in with rocks to make it level but still allow water to flow). We enter at the sump, confused how to cover that area if at all?I have attached an drawing of our crawl space. And pictures (they are prior to replacing the cracked pipe. Its not as wet down there now that our washing machine isnt dumping tons of water down there).
