I have a stud in a furred out wall that I need to remove or modify in order to install a z-wave controlled water shut-off. The water shut-off is supposed to sit on top of the ball valve but cannot because there is a stud right next to it. I was thinking of cutting the stud on the bottom part where the line comes into the house using a dremel and then removing the top part (I think I can get enough leverage on it to just bend it out). I would then leave the bottom part of the stud and install an electrical outlet to power the water shut-off. This is accessible so it should be up to code? This became more involved then I originally knew, but I'd like to get this installed as I have been the victim of flooding due to my fridge line leaking.https://ift.tt/2jpiaeC via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2rhdjQc
