I'm 40 and looking to rebalance my 403b account with Vanguard. I invest in index funds currently with the following allocation: Vanguard total stock market 35%, total world stock market 35%, total bond 30%. I know that most are going to say I'm crazy with the bond % and I agree. Hence, the rebalance. My question is do I need to diversify within asset classes or keep it simple? I'm thinking keeping the same 3 funds and going to 50%, 30% and 20% in bonds (which I'm sure many will suggest is still way too high). I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!
