I am contemplating about asking for a raise but am unsure if I should go through with it or not.

Here is a little bit of background on the situation:

I started my job in Jan of this year, fresh out of college. I was put into a position where I was basically the assistant to the lead for my department. In early March the lead employee turned in his two week notice and I was then told by upper management that I would be taking over their role and all the responsibilities that come with it (so basically it tripled my work load). The said that they would not be bringing in anyone to help or take over the leads position in the future.

Fast forward until now, I have been in the position for about two months now and I believe I have handled everything that has come my way and more. Obviously I believe that if I am doing all the work of a lead position I should get compensated for it but on the other hand its not like I was at this company for a year or so and my experience is still in its youth so to speak. I know I can always ask for a raise, but do I technically deserve one?

Any advice is welcome and thank you in advance.
