I offered my help to paint my aunts fence. Part of it is turning green, quick google and I think it's algae on the fence. Not super thickly, but some of the wood is stained green where the old paint has shown through. Before finding out that it's probably some algae, my mum suggested wire brush it, but I was thinking maybe sand it. However online it recommends bleach solution to kill off the bleach and scrub with brush. Also optional powerwash before hand.Anyone got any advice or experience with this?If I clean it up, will I have to wait before painting? It's only the left third that's green, so I could clean it, paint the right if it will dry quickly enough? Or I may be able to bleach it another day before hand but then how long should I wait.I can borrow my parents pressure washer, but dunno if aunt has a hose tap. Also, we're in Scotland climate-wise. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2kx1fr8
