I’m a college student from the US and this summer I’m studying in London. My question is how do I spend money there? I have a Discover credit card and I’ve informed them of my travels, including my layover in Toronto, not yet about my weekend in Paris, but I don’t know if it is common for places in London/Toronto/Paris to accept Discover. I haven’t informed my bank yet.
So, should I just take some cash and use my Discover most of the time? (It doesn’t have foreign transaction fees) Should I use my debit TD bank card? (I don’t know if it has foreign transaction fees) Should I exchange all the money I plan to spend here in the US and bring it with me? Should I get a new travel card? Or a prepaid card?
