I've put up some simple vinyl crown molding in my basement. I nailed it up without any other adhesive. I haven't applied caulk to the edges yet. The kitchen is above this room. When somebody is walking around the molding makes annoying little creaking noises...I assume where the nails are buried.If I had put adhesive up would that maybe have reduced this problem? I assume applying caulk around the edges will do nothing to mitigate this but we'll see. Also is it best practice to maybe cut vinyl short by a 32nd or something to ensure its not under any tension or stress?Thanks via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2HUubnW
