Hi r/frugal, I'm currently on holiday in Orlando, Florida for the next 3 weeks, coming from the UK, the food prices seem really steep, not talking about Disney Park food etc, fully expected that to be expensive but we went to get some basics from a Walmart and everything seems so expensive, is this because we're in a tourist area, or are USA prices like this everywhere?
Some examples, (bearing in mind £1 = approx $1.4) a lettuce would usually cost me 50p at home, and it cost me $1.69, a bag of three peppers again in UK say £1, here $2.00, is this normal?
Everything is so oversized too, toiletries are huge! Bought a bottle of bodywash that's like 900ml, about twice the size of a normal UK one, and crisps, do you not have individual portion sized crisps?
Final moan, teabags, yes I'm English, yes I drink tea, I can't find any anywhere, other than liberating them from the complimentary breakfast at the hotel!
