I've been on my company's health insurance for over a year now and only recently had to use it. A few months ago I had an appointment with my PCP. My insurance doesn't have a copay. Instead I pay 30% of whatever is billed to the insurance company. When the bill arrived, I owed about $40.
Then one week ago I hurt my shoulder. I knew I would need x-rays done so I went to a walk-in urgent care facility. I just got the EOB emailed to me from my insurance and everything was 100% covered including the x-rays. So I owe nothing.
Is there any concern if I continue visiting the urgent care for things other than my physical? For example, I've been getting really bad headaches that last for weeks and I want to follow up with someone. If it's not that critical to visit my PCP, I would prefer to keep visiting this urgent care to pocket the $40 each time.
