I have an old thermostat I'd like to replace with a new smart thermostat.I have a question about thermostat compatibility that Nest wasn't able to answer. My previous thermostat is a honeywell rth2410. There is a terminal there labeled W/Aux. On that terminal, I have a white wire on the right and a black wire on the left, between the yellow and white. The image is provided below. I cannot figure out what that black wire is for, especially for the purposes of wiring the nest.https://ift.tt/2r6paAF The best I can find is the manual for the honeywell thermostat states, "PLACE A JUMPER (PIECE OF WIRE) BETWEEN Y AND W/AUX IF YOU ARE USING A HEAT PUMP WITHOUT AUXILIARY/BACKUP HEAT." I do not have gas backup, and my system is entirely electric. Any ideas if this is it?In addition, my air handler does not have a control panel, as it is integrated into the blower. So it is fairly difficult to tell where wires are going. That can be seen here, not that like it's any help though. https://ift.tt/2HyQrGZ via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2HA7Gnf
