My 15 year old Wertheim vacuum cleaner died with a scream and the smell of ozone. I thought about replacing it, but just on the off chance looked up instructions on replacing the motor. Soon I was watching a YouTube video showing how easy it was. The motor and turbine were a single unit, and it seems to be a standard part, when I bought a replacement on eBay it listed dozens of brands of cleaners it would fit. It just slots into a cavity in the plastic case, the power wires clip on to a pair of terminals, and I'm back in action. If your vacuum cleaner has screws holding the case together you can probably do the same.
