I recently posted about buying some Darn Tough socks on eBay because there's no retailers in AU. Turns out they're a different company and while I've found the quality to be great, much better than what you'd get from uniqlo, asos, etc, it's important to note that you may not be getting the Darn Tough that is recommended on here.
I asked the eBay seller for an explanation this is what they said:
Hi there,
Thank you for your email. In respect to your question the difference is Darn Tough is an Australian brand and holds the Australian & NZ trademark for this name. There is a US brand called Darn Tough Vermont which is likely where the confusion comes from. The Australian Darn Tough does come with the one-year guarantee. I am not sure what guarantee the US brand comes with. I agree it is confusing and Darn Tough Vermont have been advised of this as the Australian Darn Tough trademark means there is only one Darn Tough brand in Australia. Of course there is a big difference in the price between the two, with the US pair being significantly more expensive.
