Hello all!I have no trees in my back yard. My son's first birthday party was today and I tried to set up a pinata "stand" on top of my pergola. The idea is that when it's time for a pinata, I unfold it, run a rope through an eyelet, and then let the good times go. When it's done, I can fold it down and have very little of it showing as it'll sit on top of the pergola.I did a v1.0 (https://ift.tt/2v078VI) of it and it was functional meaning it folded and unfolded as intended. But the weight of the pinata and the pulling of the rope shook the wood to the point where I felt it was unsafe (is an activity where kids are swinging a stick at a moving container of candy every really safe?).So my question is... How can I stabilize this contraption to minimize the movement? I thought about a less steep angle but I don't know if that'll improve the sway.On a side note, I knew I should have paid more attention in math class. a2 + b2 = c2? I'm sure something like that would have helped with this. Thanks in advance. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2IDoxWl
