We are listing our house. Our home has barely-finished wood stairs that needed to be stained. I.. am not handy, but I found some sort of stain that “dries in one hour”, followed the directions (while ending up covered in stain, but the stairs look lovely!!). It said it would dry in an hour. That was 24 hours ago. We are walking on it because we have no choice, but it’s still like... slightly tacky? Is there anything I can do to speed this up? Also, I don’t believe there was any finish on this before. They were very matte. Do I HAVE to finish them? Our floors are not shiny and I like how it looks not shiny.
