Hello, I am trying to install a 55" TV in a tricky spot. Linked is a photo with a sketch of my idea. This install is for a client and I was unaware of the challenges until after I agreed to do the work. The TV needs to hang above a window on a wall that is made out of plywood cubbies. There are plywood squares nailed to the front of the cubbies, but I don't trust their strength alone. The cubbies are open at the back so I can easily access the backside of the plywood panels. My idea is to screw 2x6"s through the bottom of the cubbies on the backside of the panel, then attach the TV mount to the front of the panel through the 2x6"s. My thinking is the lumber will help spread the load and pull on the cubbies themselves as opposed to the front panels.Another alternative would be to change the panels to a large plywood sheet that spans all four cubbies. I could somehow attach that to the cubbies but it I only want to go that route if it will be significantly safer because it requires alot more work.Sketch Any and all suggestions are much appreciated! via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2JK8pUi
