I bought a Ridgid wet/dry vac https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/5-gal-stor-n-go-wet-dry-vac in December of 2016 for about $100. I had waited for a long time before finally biting the bullet on a vac. I have used it quite a bit since then. It saw a fair amount of abuse (lots of sludge and water) in September doing hurricane Harvey cleanup in Houston, TX. Then in February I was renovating my house and it suddenly stopped. I took it apart and determined that it was motor related. I checked Ridgid’s warranty webpage and found that they have lifetime warranties. I contacted them with my symptoms and they requested a few specific photos of the unit. Within a week of submitting the photos, a new unit was delivered (today). A few hours after delivery, I got an email with a tracking number telling me I was covered under warranty. No need to return the old unit. I only own 1 other Ridgid tool (circular saw) but this type of warranty and service sure took the sting out of the device failure.
