I currently work as a software engineer in NYC. I like my boss, whom I consider a mentor; I seem to be respected by my coworkers who appreciate me; I work from home 90% of the time but have a WeWork office available; unlimited vacation days; I can basically work from anywhere that has an internet connection. My salary is 115k. I work about 40hrs a week, but sometimes more when things get busy. I asked for a 25% raise because of additional responsibilities I've taken on and was given 8%, which puts me about 123k.

I've interviewed for a director position which is advertised for 200-250k at a startup with top-tier VC. It looks like they all work from the office, and the office was pretty busy when I interviewed at 6PM.

How do I put a value on my flexible schedule / current environment? I don't have kids or a mortgage currently but would like to in the near future (recently married). If my current employer had given me my full ask I probably would not be considering this move. Is it normal to go back to the CFO and negotiate a higher raise? What is some advice for having that discussion? I don't want to "go over the head" of my boss.
