Hello, I purchased this wooden kitchen table second hand about a year ago. As you can see in the picture, one of the pieces of wood must have expanded and popped out. It seems like most of the pieces are screwed into a piece of plywood underneath. Can provide more pictures if necessary. The seller did say the wood for the table was kiln dried, so my best guess is that this table was assembled very shortly after, before the humidity could would allow the wood to be in it's present state.I did notice the glue was cracked along where this warpage is, but was not cracked on the other size where the exterior piece of wood is. I think humidity moisture may be getting in a lot more on that side (cracked glue side) causing the expansion.I did some research on how to fix this but I only found instances where people made repairs to the individual pieces of wood before the table was assembled. I'm struggling to find info on what to do after the table is assembled.Right now my idea is to just grab a sander and sand it down, then try and restain it, reglue the gap, and glaze it but I'm worried that the wood may shrink again and then I will have a big dip as opposed to the table sticking out. via /r/DIY https://ift.tt/2GS4sv6
