First time posting in this sub so please let me know if I did something wrong. Okay, here's the deal.
I'm bougie and I think I fucked up. My husband, me, and his 3 kids moved to our new house in February of 2016, so we've been here for a little over 2 years. I pushed for it, he was happy in our old house but moved for me. But now, I feel like we're struggling every month money wise. We're still able to pay the bills we have like the mortgage, cars, electricity, etc, but now I feel like we're "house poor". We're not making any progress on CC bills and we never seem to have any money left at the end of paying all the bills to do anything fun.
Our old mortgage was around 210k and we bought this new house at 380k. Our house price, according to trulia and zillow is now estimated at 429k. So theoretically, we could make a decent profit. The question is... is it worth it to consider a move and buy a home in the same price range as our old one? Or would extra costs like closing, moving, etc make it worthless and leave us in the same situation? It has to be big enough for all of us to fit - so 4 bedrooms minimum. We can definitely find a house big enough, but my bougie side comes out when I see it doesn't have the same upgrades/amenities that our current one has. I know it shouldn't matter, but I can't help it.
Any advice?
