First Post (Please forgive me if my layout or vocab is confusing)
So I started working as an apprentice for a small up and coming business around 4 years ago at age 17 and I got paid around £1000 before tax, I worked there for 14 months and really progressed as a member of the team.
I then left to go and pursue further education and worked at a local ASDA part-time
I then returned to my previous job as I had a good relationship with co workers and the company owner and decided that the university route wasn't for me.
The companies annual turnover has since increased from ~£2.5 million to ~£10 million
I have since been here for over 10 months and am a solid top performer within my department, this can be confirmed by department statistics sent via email from our manager.
Anyway my basic salary before tax is £16,000 meaning I come away with ~£1180 paid into my account on the 1st of every month, Through methodical (Very obvious, Non-Intelligent) observation and audible confirmation I know that my co-workers all earn atleast £4000 more than me annually, while atleast one of them does a quarter of my workload per month.
As a department we earn very little incentives compared to other deparments within the company, I was verbally offered a £200 per month bonus 2/3 months ago, that I have not recieved once.
I spoke to a higher up manager 2 months ago about this issue as I was beginning to feel under-valued, his response to me was that I was not old enough (now 20) nor had I been at the company long enough (12 months) to receive a wage increase and that my monthly bonus was based on company sales targets outside of my department and that this would be paid 30 days in arrears, while they take the time to "crunch the numbers"
I'm now stuck in this limbo between waiting 4 months so that I have been her 14 months and am aged 21 for a wage increase or leaving with my experience and previous qualifications to find a new job?
TLDR: Worked a total of 2 years (14 months then 10 months a year later)
Get paid atleast 4k less than others in my department despite doing twice their workload (have statistics to prove)
Got told I couldnt receive a wage increase as I hadnt worked their long enough nor was I old enough
Was verbally told I would get a £200 bonus monthly that I have never recieved
Feel undervalued in my workplace should I take my 2 years experience and look for a new job or stick it out and hope they offer me a large wage increase to compensate?
