So as the cherry to my crappy week sundae, the only diamond in my wedding band was knocked out at some point today and lost. I have the wedding band and can see the top of two of the prongs holding the diamond in were damaged causing the diamond to fall out. This was originally my grandmother’s ring and honestly I don’t know if it was a real diamond but do know it’s 14K gold. Since I’ve never dealt with repairing previous jewelry before any frugal tips you can share with me? I don’t care to replace it with a real diamond if I can get a good looking white diamond like stone at a good price instead. It was a tiny stone but I’m not sure even where to start, what to ask for? Do I just look up any local jeweler and should be able to help? All help is highly appreciated, I’m absolutely sad at the moment. What price point should I be expecting? Anyone have a clue?
