So I am a sales rep/mover in the Atlanta area. I average around 60 hours per week and my overtime is very important to me. This job would not be worth it to me without all the overtime I am allowed to pile up.

I mostly work in the office booking moves but I am always on standby just in case a driver/crew leader is needed. That happened this Monday on a move that was going out of state. Now I am not an interstate truck driver, I am an hourly employee. I was told that I would only receive normal pay and no overtime when I cross state lines. This really doesn't seem too fair. What if I work 60 hours in Georgia and barely cross state lines for a few hours?

I have not received a clear explanation as to why overtime is nullified as soon as you cross state lines from my employer. Can someone elaborate?
