Going across the country for a move. Thankfully able to leave all furniture behind, but even a couple of suitcases/boxes add baggage fees on a plane ticket pretty significantly. And I'd like to bring bikes with me. Pods/upacks end up being several grand.
I've heard of deadheading, where you take advantage of the empty/return trips of truckers to ship stuff cheaper, but how do you even find someone to pay for some room?
The other thing I was looking at was driving a uhaul myself and finding people shipping pets to pay me to take their pets. There's only one website so far that might show people looking to ship, and then I'd have to figure out all those logistics - but it could be worth the effort.
What tactics am I not thinking of?
