If anyone was wondering, I emailed the customer service team and asked how replacements will work now. The response was:
"The For Life guarantee will continue for the rest of the customer’s life and will continue on the same terms for any future replacements issued. Between 1st of April and 30th of June 2018 valid claims under the For Life guarantee will be satisfied with replacements from the remaining For Life stock [or] an alternative 1460/1461 of your choosing (with the exception of the Made in England range). From 1 July 2018 onwards, valid claims under the For Life guarantee will be satisfied with replacements from the Hard Life range only (or a comparable collection in the future)."
I think it's still a fairly decent policy for existing guarantee holders though if my boots were to fail soon, I'd personally hold off and avoid the cheaper made 1460/1's.
