Greetings fine people of /r/diyWe have an unfinished basement that we let our kiddos run wild in with small riding toys etc. We maybe go down once every 2-3 weeks. Well, we went down this morning and I noticed this damage on the wall that I have not noticed before. https://ift.tt/2jgqf5d was after I brushed away the chipped concrete. It looks like the damage came from the outside based on the way the chipped concrete looked to be pushed into the basement; and that something seeped in through the crack. I didn’t think to take a pic until after I brushed away the loose concrete chips. It seems fairly hard although if I keep tapping on it it continues to come off in a small dust (the darker part specifically).Any ideas what this could be and how do I make sure no further damage happens? Our basement is about 10-12 years old, we moved in almost a year ago now, and as far as I can tell has never had any water issues.
